... Kubuntu, openSUSE, Fedora, Arch

what is DSP (StyleProject)? -> "StyleProject is a style for qt4 and qt5 that requires kde for the window decoration."

You definitely need an installation of "KDE5" (Since we all know what is meant, even there is no KDE5) or KDE4!

for installation and configuration have also a look here: sourceforge.net/p/styleproject…

Kubuntu 15.10 (works not for Kubuntu 15.04)

1. You need (dependencies and tools):  git, cmake, extra-cmake-modules, gcc, g++, pkg-config, qt5-default, libkdecorations2-dev, libqt5x11extras5-dev, libkf5coreaddons-dev, libkf5configwidgets-dev, libkf5windowsystem-dev, libepoxy-dev, kwin-dev  (not sure if all are needed)

for Qt4 apps: libqt4-dev, kdelibs5-dev

2. open a terminal and copy the code: git clone git://git.code.sf.net/p/styleproject/code styleproject-code

3. compile (always from styleproject-code folder):

Qt5:  mkdir qt5build; cd qt5build; cmake ../ -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/usr -DQT5BUILD=ON && make && sudo make install

Qt4:  mkdir qt4build; cd qt4build; cmake ../ -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/usr  && make && sudo make install

Kubuntu 14.04.x LTS (Qt4 only because of KDE4 -> you need the legacy branch)

1. You need (dependencies and tools): git, cmake, g++, libqt4-dev, kdelibs5-dev, kdebase-workspace-dev, libxrender-dev

2. open a terminal and copy the code: git clone -b legacy git://git.code.sf.net/p/styleproject/code styleproject-code

3. compile (always from styleproject-code folder):

mkdir build; cd build; cmake -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/usr && make && sudo make install

openSUSE Leap 42 (Qt5 only, because you can't install kdebase4-workspace-devel (which is needed by Qt4 part) without to destroy your system)

1. You need (dependencies and tools): git, cmake, extra-cmake-modules, gcc-c++, libQt5Core-devel, libQt5Widgets-devel, libkdecoration2-devel, libQt5OpenGL-devel, libQt5DBus-devel, libqt5-qtx11extras-devel, kcoreaddons-devel, kconfigwidgets-devel, kwindowsystem-devel, kguiaddons-devel, libepoxy-devel (not sure if all are needed)

2. open a terminal and copy the code:git clone git://git.code.sf.net/p/styleproject/code styleproject-code

3. compile (always from styleproject-code folder):

32 bit: mkdir build; cd build; cmake ../ -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/usr -DQT5BUILD=ON && make && sudo make install
64 bit: mkdir build; cd build; cmake ../ -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/usr -DQT5BUILD=ON  -DLIBDIR=lib64 && make && sudo make install

Fedora 23

1. You need (dependencies and tools):  git, cmake, extra-cmake-modules, gcc-c++, qt5-qtbase-devel, qt5-qtx11extras-devel, kdecoration-devel, kf5-kwindowsystem-devel, kf5-kconfigwidgets-devel, kf5-kguiaddons-devel, kf5-ki18n-devel, kwin-devel, libepoxy-devel

for Qt4 apps: kde-baseapps-devel

2. open a terminal and copy the code:git clone git://git.code.sf.net/p/styleproject/code styleproject-code

3. compile (always from styleproject-code folder):

Qt5 64 bit: mkdir qt5build; cd qt5build;cmake ../ -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/usr -DQT5BUILD=ON  -DLIBDIR=lib64 && make && sudo make install
Qt5 32 bit: mkdir qt5build; cd qt5build;cmake ../ -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/usr -DQT5BUILD=ON && make && sudo make install

Qt4 64 bit: mkdir qt4build; cd qt5build;cmake ../ -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/usr  -DLIBDIR=lib64 && make && sudo make install
Qt4 32 bit: mkdir qt4build; cd qt5build;cmake ../ -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/usr && make && sudo make install

Arch, Manjaro

1. You need (dependencies and tools):  git, cmake, extra-cmake-modules and different tools from base-devel group

for Qt4 apps: automoc4, kde-meta-kdebase

2. open a terminal and copy the code:git clone git://git.code.sf.net/p/styleproject/code styleproject-code

3. compile (always from styleproject-code folder):

Qt5:  mkdir qt5build; cd qt5build; cmake ../ -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/usr -DQT5BUILD=ON && make && sudo make install

Qt4:  mkdir qt4build; cd qt4build; cmake ../ -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/usr  && make && sudo make install

For all distributions: after installation you can choose the style from settings manager, possibly you need qtconfig-qt4 (qt4-qtconfig) to adjust the style for qt4 apps

What else is out there? Here you can find a small config tool: "A simple GUI tool for writing and editing DSP configs." github.com/magpie240/styleconf…
... and Despy for a preview of your settings: "Small window'o'widgets for previewing DSP settings."  github.com/magpie240/despy

Thanks to Mark... also for the help to work out the deps!

Styles are in our DSP Styles section: be-desk.deviantart.com/gallery…

Have fun!

Hi to all Bespin/Virtuality/DSP and BE::Shell enthusiasts! If we talk about Bespin/Virtuality/DSP and BE::Shell it means widget styles for KDE applications (Bespin, Virtuality and DSP) and a desktop (BE::Shell) to replace Plasma desktop.

What we are?:

  • We are the BE::Shell and Bespin/Virtuality/DSP desktop related group on deviantART and we are here to share our themes and scripts for our special desktop.

What we are not?:

  • Developers of BE::Shell and Bespin/Virtuality/DSP and therefore we don't accept bug reports and feature requests here!

To lead this page successfully we need some rules...

General rules:

  • deviations and statements with racist, sexist or anti-Semitic content will not be accepted. We respect each other!
  • we do not accept commercial work
  • we respect other people's privacy and licenses

Special rules:

  • all submitted contents are BE::Shell or Bespin/Virtuality/DSP related
  • submissions go to the correct folders
  • focus in screenshots must be on group related stuff, not on naked girls or other stuff (a small panel and 2 big boobs are not group related)
  • to protect our members scripts and mixed content (collections) are not automatically approved and subjects to vote

Improvements and additions will be welcome!
